Person Centred Counselling
Our method of counselling is primarily person centred. This approach developed by Carl Rogers, believes that every individual has the internal resources they need for growth. When a counsellor offers the three core conditions of person centred counselling growth of the individual will take place. These three core conditions are congruence, total acceptance and empathy.
This approach is particularly helpful for those who wish to explore themselves and their feelings, and who value personal responsibility rather than those who would like extensive advice or wish to gain a diagnosis of what they are experiencing.
We do not work from a script or have a set of questions to ask you. You chose what you wish to talk about and we work with whatever you bring to the conversation and at your own pace. We will not impose our interpretation or judgement on what you tell us.
